My Now Page

This is a Now page. Think: “what you’d tell a friend you haven’t seen for a year.”

Summary:

Living in Nashville and working as a music professor and part-time church musician. Given the quarantine lifestyle we went through with COVID, I’m very thankful we bought our first home in 2019. My days are full of teaching, studying scores, mentoring students, reading, writing, improving our home, playing with my kids, hanging out with Kerry, and watching choirs on YouTube, MLB, or old R.C. Sproul sermons.

Classes I’m teaching:

(Fall 2023)

  • Aural Theory I & III (3 sections)
  • Trevecca Chorale
  • Voces Fidei

(Spring 2024)

  • Aural Theory II & IV (3 sections)
  • Advanced Conducting
  • Trevecca Chorale
  • Voces Fidei

Performances I’m preparing:

We performed Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo last spring. We’re doing assorted choral-orchestral performances for both Advent and Lent this year and the Rutter Requiem in April 2024. Very excited for the year!

Professional projects I’m working on:

I have several writing projects that should be further along than they are. The book manuscript is a mess, but the first draft is done. I continue running lots of websites…

Personal projects I’m pursuing:

  • Raising THREE beautiful souls with a wonderful partner
  • Reading in Reformed theology, personal finance, and building family culture
  • Projects around the house
  • Slowly reviving my golf game
  • Striving to read more books and less news
